Position Summary + Scope of Responsibilities 

The Vice President of Marketing and Communications develops and guides the overall marketing and communications strategy to effectively articulate and advance the client’s brand, solutions, and services to gain a competitive advantage in the market. This role provides leadership and strategic direction that fosters innovation, excellence, and engagement, and supports the client’s mission and values. In partnership with other leaders, this role helps to achieve national brand recognition, new client acquisition, client retention, employee attraction & retention objectives. 


Principal Roles and Responsibilities 

• Create, implement, and measure the success of a comprehensive marketing, communications, and corporate relations program that enhances the brand and position within the marketplace, as well as with employees/other stakeholders. 

• Provides leadership to the Marketing team, creating an engaging and productive team culture that rewards performance, teamwork, innovation, and personal growth; and guides the team to ensure corporate objectives are implemented. 

• Defines and executes all marketing strategies including, campaigns, tactics, content, and specific deliverables with a focus on continuing advances in brand development, channel marketing (including digital/social), public relations, media relations, and marketing/communications partner development. 


• Ensure clear and consistent use of the brand image, messaging, and position throughout the organization through employee education, engagement and immersion with the brand – building upon current initiatives in brand development and competitive differentiation. 

• Partner with the Sales/Business Development, Client Services, and People + Culture teams to help each team achieve their respective goals – efficiently navigating constraints and tradeoffs necessary to achieve corporate and divisional objectives. 

• Define, develop, and deploy new solutions or service lines by continually refining the customer + client experiences, and understanding business partner, patients’ benefits communication, and HR needs. 

• In partnership with the People + Culture team, ensure internal communications, talent attraction/recruiting, the employee experience, and other internal processes are guided by the True Rx brand and supported by the Marketing + Communications team. 


Minimum Requirements (Experience + Education) 

• Ten (10) years or more experience in developing and implementing marketing and communications strategies in the healthcare industry 

• Bachelor’s Degree required with a preference for marketing or a related field of study 

• A strong understanding of B2B marketing with significant ROI successes 

• Ability to analyze marketing research and determine strategies of introducing the brand into new markets and audiences 

• Entrepreneurial spirit and able to cast a vision to gain alignment of stakeholders 

• Highly collaborative style with demonstrated successful experience in leading teams 

• Experience with brand development and implementation 

• Proficiency in conducting meaningful surveys and focus groups 

• A strong track record as an implementer who thrives on contributing to client engagement and revenue producing goals while managing a variety of key initiatives concurrently 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills including superior presentation skills 

• Strategic thinker with long-term planning approach and commitment to client’s mission, goals, and team 

• Relationship builder with the flexibility and finesse to manage by influence and the commitment to work collaboratively with all constituent groups, including staff, clients, prospects, vendors, and other partners 


Physical Demands and Work Environment 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at that time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, use hands and fingers, and type for up to eight (8) hours in a workday. Employee is required to stand and/or walk for short periods of time and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
