Position Summary + Scope of Responsibilities

Our client is seeking a Vice President of Business Development, Strategic Accounts to build and sustain the most complex, and ultimately most valuable prospective client and customer relationships. The Vice President of Business Development, Strategic Accounts will be responsible for overseeing the sales process of large enterprise opportunities and working with key strategic partners, benefits consultants, and TPA’s. A true consultative approach with prospective clients and their trusted partners is essential to success in this role.


Principal Roles and Responsibilities

  • Consistently progress enterprise opportunities through the sales pipeline Provide strategic project oversight throughout proposal process for assigned enterprise accounts
  • Capable of delivering compelling presentations to prospective clients, consultants, partners, and others to make the case for the client being a top choice PBM
  • Oversee RFP and proposal process by strategically coordinating and collaborating with
  • Identify, qualify, and generate new leads and business opportunities from strategic partners and TPA’s
  • A relationship builder with natural rapport, likeability, and trustworthiness to represent the client’s values with clients and partners
  • Consistently meet or exceed objectives and quotas
  • Always informed of our products and how clients benefit from them, as well as understanding our roadmap and competitive differentiation
  • Take the initiative to bring new ideas and observations to the business development team, promote partnership and resourcefulness
  • Collaborate with all disciplines across organization to win new business
  • Develop and maintain intra-company relationships consistent with our values
  • Understand the client’s business strategy, challenges, and opportunities to drive meaningful conversations and values for all stakeholders
  • Facilitate a smooth transition from Business Development to the Operations team and assist with further developing the client relationship.

Minimum Requirements (Experience + Education)

Qualifications:

  • Ability to travel up to 25% as required for the role
  • Candidate can be located anywhere in the United States
  • Previous benefit broker/consultant experienced strongly preferred


Education: Bachelor’s degree


Experience/Knowledge:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in field sales in the employer benefits
  • Experience in managing enterprise opportunities through the RFP and proposal process
  • Ability to adapt / modulate style according to different settings and personalities
  • Excellent poise and presentation skills, strong writing skills
  • Proven performer driven to work in a growing company and sell solutions
  • Tenacious in follow-up and able to think out of the box for traditional outreach attempts in order to identify and connect with key decision makers


Compensation

This is a base + commission position with total annual compensation expected range between $225,000 and $275,000. Salary commensurate with experience.


Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at that time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, use hands and fingers, and type for up to eight (8) hours in a workday. Employee is required to stand and/or walk for short periods of time and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
